Abstract:The costs of production, the influence of government, the issue of product differentiation, the pricing image sought for the product, the behaviour of relevant agents, such as distributors and suppliers, competition, and behaviour of the wine buyer and consumer are discussed. The prominent strategy in wine marketing is a "push" rather than a "pull" strategy. Australia's distance from the major importing countries of Canada and the USA makes exporting success unlikely.
