Abstract:Organisational economics is purported to offer a potential revolution in organization theory. The organizational economics paradigm is outlined and its value for organization theory is assessed. The conclusions are that organizational economics is useful in extending theory building and empirical research in organization theory, but for organizational economics to realize its full potential, it must draw upon organization theory to refine theory building and expand its scope beyond current boundaries.
