| Abstract: | Previous estimations of import demand functions used an equation by equation approach and could not impose cross-equation constraints. The present article uses flexible and general translog functions in a system framework, relying on the model developed by Kohli. 5 regions of origin are investigated: non EC (lO) Western Europe, US, Japan, other industrialized countries and NICs. |
