Abstract:There were several theoretical deliberations in the recent past on the "information overload" effect, which means that consumers receive more information than they can process. The most important empirical research in this area was performed by Jacoby et al. His results were reproduced, commented, analysed widely. Jacoby's method has several fallacies however and these are enumerated in the article.
