Abstract:The most useful thing to begin with the speculations about future is the way economists think now: with the dominant paradigm and limitations. This will open the way for speculation whether and how the situation might change and what form the emerging new ideas may take. This in turn will support some reflections as to what "economics" might be "about" in 2090, and what will by then have happened to the teaching of what passes for economic sciences now. After a philosophical overview of the state of the art, the understanding of unknowledge is discussed. A "black box" of unknowledge is postulated which consist of things not conceived of in human plans; it is envisaged that the unknowable content of that box changes through time.
