Abstract: | Companies manage R&D in a number of ways: globally, multinationally, internationally, or transnationally. Global management means that the company competes worldwide, generally with similar bases of competition in all its markets, R&D is focused on processes rather than products. Managing multinationally, a company tailors its products and services to each country's market requirements, R&D is mainly product-related. International management is a system in which a company sells similar products worldwide but performs some customization from country to country. The transnational approach is a way of blending several different approaches to achieve a significant competitive advantage. |
