| Abstract: | Which methods are available to achieve optimal legal protection for the company's research and development results? The degree of latitude by the framework decisions for an active legal protection policy is much wider than is usually assumed. It is influenced not only by the legal situation, but also the technological and entrepreneurial peculiarities of the results to be protected, as well as the anticipated behaviour of competitors. The basics of an active patent policy are outlined. The advantages and drawbacks of monopolization of results are discussed. The risks of registration are assessed. The risks of keeping the results secret are also considered. |
