Abstract:The purpose of this article is to examine dimensionality, reliability and validity of the wide-ranging SERVQUAL instrument in Germany. A study extending the investigation of SERVQUAL in the German setting is relevant and useful. As is the case with other marketing and propositions, finding pertaining to SERVQUAL are primary based on American research. Without validation, application of American theories, constructs and their measures to other countries can lead to erroneous inferences. If the psychometric properties of the measures of a construct vary widely across countries, conclusion based on the scale may actually be attributed to measure unreliability rather the national differences.
