| Abstract: | 185 industrial firms,the relationships between corporate level distinctive competencies and performance were examined across firms using different diversification strategies and having different corporate structures. The corporate level distinctive competencies/performance relationships were found to vary by type of diversification strategy but not type of corporate structure. Only a small relationship was found to exist between diversification strategy and corporate structure but specific one was explored between corporate level distinctive competencies and performance and their normative implications. |
