Abstract: | One of the biggest players in the United Kingdom construction market, John Laing faces many of the traditional family company problems. But a new strategy to decentralize operations gives managers entrepreneurial incentives. The aim is both to develop existing divisions and to start new ventures using outside expertise. There is a need to invest in the human element. In a time of rapid change they want to create a more entrepreneurial environment: developing and keeping high quality people is vital. |
