Abstract:The printing and packaging group Norton Opax's art lies in building specialist niches either through acquisition or product development and extracting above-average returns from them. The company has grown, largely through strategic acquisitions, from a small to medium-sized business. UK pioneer of instant lotteries, Norton Opax now exports them to 42 countries. Profits from this niche founded early acquisitions. After the acquisition of BroadPrint, operations were separated into autonomous units, an organisational characteristic that has been a key element of Norton Opax's management strategy. The company is going to cooperate with Bowater in plastic cards and packaging.
