Abstract: | T.O'Reilly of Heinz leads a management team intent on consistent product innovation, spotting food trends and bringing the firm's considerable brand strengths increasingly to bear on global markets. O'Reilly, the excellent consummate leader has an enormous capacity to take a very global view. Heinz has done well to anticipate changes in eating habits, particularly the move to "healthier" eating and fast foods and snacking. O'Reilly intends also profit from the spread of McDonald's in Asia. It is important to emphasise that senior management are not hired forces, but co-owners of the company, almost a prerequisite for a collegial management style. |
