Abstract:Bright spots are few and far between in the United Kingdoms electronics industry. New firms are adept at picking a niche, often at the sophisticated end of the market, but once their products have become successful in the technical world, either the big players come in and swamp them or they trip up through inadequate management. Cambridge based Tadpole Technology has found a defensible niche in which its size is an asset rather than a liability. Tadpole has the flexibility to design specialist high-performance 32-bit processing systems and related software in time-scales that are a fraction of what others can achieve.
