Abstract:Organization studies and theories are usually based on time-free statements. The concept of "organizational time" is introduced in order to explore the internal and particular time of the individual organization (or event) and the time involved in intra-organizational dynamics in relation to other times. Organizational times may be seen as being divided among several distinct planes of reality. Two research studies are reported to show organizational time as an important variable in shaping of the scenario of decision-making processes. It is argued that the heuristic validity of this variable lies in the interpretation of the choices and culture of organizational actors.
