| Abstract: | By the year 2000, half or more of all international trade will be conducted as countertrade, according to IMF, World Bank, and the USA Department of commerce. In the absence of accounting guidelines, it is imperative to encourage full disclosure of countertrade transactions and that practitioners understand the basics of this sophisticated form of trade. |
