Abstract:According to Ulrich Beck, the concept of social class is death. The main reasons are the changing logic of distribution and the dissolution of large group categories. This paper assesses the weaknesses of this perspective. First, ambivalence and contradiction weaken the credibility of Beck's paper. In addition, the conceptualization of class, the conceptualization of class analysis and the causes for individualization are considered as weaknesses.
