Abstract:This study aims to examine how employees' experiences related to an organizations' (here as: org/s.) downsizing (hereafter as: dwnsg.), would influence employee-org/s. relationships and the employees' decisions to stay in the org/s. In exploring survivors' responses to dwnsg., informational justice (herein as: i-j.) was chosen as an antecedent of the survivors' intentions to leave and Organization-Public Relationship (OPR) was hypothesized to act as a mediator btw. i-j. and turnover intentions (as: t-o-i.)
There are found significant associations btw. i-j. and OPR and also associations btw. OPR and t-o-i. in a dwnsg. context. In addition, it is shown that OPR mediates the relationship btw. i-j. perceptions during the dwnsg. and t-o-i. after the dwnsg.
