Abstract:British TV licenses will increase probably by four percent or so next year. Also the penalties for use of a TV receiver without a license will be high. A five-year plan suggests to reduce the amounts that BBC spends on local radio. Moreover, some stations with poor audience are to be closed. At the same time a remarkable sum will be given for independent TV productions and for regional programs. There are also ideas to combine radio and TV news operations.
