Abstract:The independent self-financing cable TV unit (GKTV) has built its first studio. The specifically designed and built studio can link 15 000 homes. Mr. Nagypal, director of Hungarian TV (MTV) being an advisor to GKTV said that all the equipment is portable making possible to set up a studio anywhere. GKTV operates on the PAL system, while MTV uses SECAM. Two full-time engineers run the system with about 30 part-time editors, reporters and cameramen. Their income originates from fees for renting equipment to MTV, commercials and from monthly fees.
