| Abstract: | Productivity in company offices is more than ever a question of the efficient gathering, processing and transmission of information. Although the question of the application of information technology at different corporate levels has long been a subject of interest for academics, in practice there has been little discussion of the issue at the highest levels. The consequences for personnel and organization of the use of PCs by middle management (personal-computer) are examined. The ideas are based on explorative studies of a multinational transport enterprise and another active in the food and confectionery sector. |
