Abstract: | Rapid developments in personal computers have affected management science. Personal computers have caused a flood of end-user computing. To manage end-user computing in organizations, information centres have emerged and spread rapidly. The success of interdisciplinary efforts such as decision support systems, expert systems, strategic planning and material requirements planning and other applications with other names, existing even more than in the past, presents issues of how to co-ordinate and integrate the management science approach with other disciplines in organizations. There has been a trend for the development of management science outside operational research groups. |
