| Abstract: | Knowledge Navigator is a personal computer that accesses information across multiple databases, and combines word processing technology with voice, graphics and video. Impressive multimedia applications for business are several years away. But less complex applications that work with ordinary PCs are here today at affordable prices.Several operating systems exist that carry or will carry multimedia functions. But simple solutions that can be implemented on any desktop PC are at least two years away. A Mackintosh with a CD-ROM drive provides a suitable platform for some multimedia applications. Several firms are listed that produce now hardware or software suitable for multimedia applications. |
