| Abstract: | From 1988 to 1999, the social psychology of the urban residents has been in pursuit of development and stability. This is their basic orientation of value but the number of those who as compared with 1988, are not, satisfied with their own living standard has increased as a result of the influences of the Asian financial crisis, the slow-down of economic development and insufficient practice of some policies. In 1999, under the condition of basic stability, the urban residents think only through reform and development and the implementation of various policies rather than by radical means can the social problems be solved. At the same time, their market consciousness has been enhanced, their dependence on the government shifted to on themselves and the market. |
