| Abstract: | The author reexamines why within Thai big business the family business form of management has continued intact and developed in many cases into a conglomerate-type group of companies. The objective here is to investigate the rationality of family business growth by considering: (1) the various economic conditions of Thailand as a late-starting industrializer or late comer, and (2) the social background of the Chinese business community in Thailand. |
