Abstract: | How "hollow" should the corporation be? The answer to this question is easy to be put into words: as hollow as makes sense in the particular situation, considering product, market manufacturing technology, and all the other factors that influence business decisions. However, the answer is a lot harder to put into action. It is complicated by tradition, biases, misunderstandings, personal interests, and confusion about what the business really is and does, and where its strengths really lie. |
