Abstract:The article analyzes the relationship between satisfaction and consumption of food in families. A model of interaction between moral/social influences and individual satisfaction/conflict is applied to study consumer behavior in an example situation of fish consumption in families. Data is collected from 452 Norwegian respondents, and analyzed with Lisrel-modeling to indicate the relationship between a construct (satisfaction, social norm, preference conflict, personal norm) and behavior. The study showed that satisfaction, social norm and preference conflict had the strongest impact on consumer behavior, and these three were in turn affected by personal norm. Social norm and preference conflict influenced one-another.
