Abstract: | The article presents a study of the South Beach Wine and Food Festival arranged in Florida, USA. The goal is to identify the main factors that influence people's motivation to attend the event. The authors also study whether there is any variation in the motivation among visitors from USA, Canada, South America, Europe and Asia. Seven factors are identified: the desire to taste new food and wines, enjoy the event, enhance social status, escape from daily routines, meet new people, spend time with family and meet celebrity chefs and wine experts. Between the national groups, the motivation varied significantly in the context of family influence. |
