Abstract:The paper studies the effectiveness of public service advertising directed at children on their nutrition and eating habits. An advertising campaign in France, encouraging children to increase their fruit consumption is examined. Elements of the campaign taken from food industry advertising directed at children were found most effective in promoting the nutritional benefits of fruit, both in terms of shifting children's attitudes on fruit consumption and their actual behavior.
