Abstract: | In late 1989, Poland decided to make a complete break with the logic of the Soviet economic model. But the country's new government today finds itself confronted not only by the problems associated with the transition to a market economy, but also an inherited economic crisis characterized notably by hyperinflation and rising unemployment. It is hardly surprising that it will take a long time before the shape of a new Polish enterprise will emerge. This , in turn, will depend largely on the privatization and foreign investment policies adopted by the government and the measures taken to stimulate entrepreneurial activity within the country. |
