Abstract:Fleet Street in London used to be the heart of the British newspaper industry. The offices of national titles were assembled there, side by side. This is no longer true. Owners have sold their old premises, many of them moving to Docklands. Robert Murdoch has played an important role in this process. He is also the key figure of Suellen M. Littleton's book, The Wapping Dispute, which focuses on the conflict between Robert Murdoch's company News International and unions concerning manning and employment conditions in the new Dockland premises.
