| Abstract: | This paper is primarily conceptual, but illustrated by means of examples from recent studies of interaction between international actors and the North Sea oil industry. One of these includes a study of a four-year industrial dispute between a US based oil company and a Norwegian contractor. The article explores and illustrates the determinants to business divorce. |
