Abstract:AMI (American Medical International) Healthcare is thriving on the current boom in private medicine. But this innovative company faces an uncertain future as its USA parent company changes ownership. It is discussed how AMI could retain its autonomy. This company has an organizational structure which, while appropriate to a smaller operation, would equally match a multinational. Most notable is the sparsity with which the chief executive runs his management team. The corporate health services division has huge potential from growth in the undeveloped UK market as changes are on way in the National Health Service.
