| Abstract: | The author compared predictions of absence made from ordinary least squares regression analysis with those made from Tobit analysis. In both cases significant predictors of time lost were number of children, comparative absence , job involvement and life-event stress , but Tobit analysis proved to be more advantageous to use. |
