Abstract: | This study deals with a new dimension describing interdependence between alliance members, namely, economic integration (here as: e-i). It is posited that e-i. has a linear positive effect on alliance stability but a curvilinear (or diminished) effect on alliance profitability. In addition, when e-i. is stronger, other dyadic variables such as interparty trust, joint governance and procedural justice will have a greater effect on alliance performance. The propositions are generalaly supported by an analysis of 198 cross-cultural strategic alliances in an emerging market. |
