Abstract: | The paper reviews the attempts of the period 1970-1990 to rationalize health care provision in the U.S. It critically discusses the strange debate between competition and regulation as a means to control health care costs. The second part deals with Ginzberg's paper: The author agrees with Ginzberg that medical cost inflation is due to deconcentrated finance, but challenges his contention that Amrican people do not want to change their system of medical care. |
