Abstract:This article investigates the relationship between training provided by employer and firm performance. A sample of over 10 000 large Belgian companies was studied to reveal how these two interrelate. Cobb-Douglas production function was utilized to estimate firms' expected performance. The results of the research suggest that the extent to which companies perform better or worse than expected can be partly be explained by the relative amount of employees participating in training and education programs offered by employer.
