| Abstract: | BCNZ dominated broadcasting in New Zealand for 25 years. At the beginning of 1989, the government passed legislation dissolving it, and setting up two state-owned enterprises: Radio New Zealand Ltd., and Television New Zealand Ltd. Their main objective now is to be profitable. A third TV channel, TV3 will be launched this year. The totally deregulated broadcasting industry may create a situation where everybody can broadcast without obtaining license. |
