Abstract: | With the increasing use of packaged software comes the need for a multi-phased methodology for implementing these applications. Like customized software development, a structured methodology helps organize the installation process in all phases of the implementation. The steps in the approach are listed below: Phase 0: Define and evaluate requirements and purchase package; Phase 1: Initiate project and confirm requirements; Phase 2: Install and modify baseline product; Phase 3: Modify internal procedures; Phase 4: Convert static data; Phase 6: Provide training; Phase 7: Provide documentation. The use of computer-aided software engineering (CASE) tools should not be forgotten. |
