Abstract:Changes of values in the economy and society, as well as the permanent necessity for innovation in the company are everyday topics of discussion. But how did this come about and how will things continue? What are the new requirements for company management and employees to meet? A wealth of ideas are provided in a search of the possible solutions. The most important characteristics of a socially sensible market economy are described. A number of structural and cultural changes are specified and illustrated. The role of decentralization in the process of structural changes is emphasized. An increasing significance of human capital for the companies' performance is demonstrated. The meaning of normative management is explained.
