| Abstract: | In the United States (U.S.), the sudden concurrent reduction of real estate values and hotel revenues has raised the shadow of bankruptcy for both owners and lenders. This article presents considerations for both lenders and owners, beginning with the realization that declaring bankruptcy under the Chapter 11 of the U.S. code ironically requires considerable financial resources, and is going to require notable assistance from counsel. |
