Abstract:Following a survey-based approach for modelling the demand for public goods, this paper provides estimates of income and price elasticities of demand forreduced marine eutrophication effects in the case of the Baltic Sea, using data from five Swedish contingent valuation studies. Point estimates indicate that reduced marine eutrophication effects can be classified as a necessity and an ordinary and price elastic service. A basic finding is that income tends to influence willingness to pay positively and significantly.
