| Abstract: | This paper offers robust normative comparisons of 12 OECD countries basing on their disposable income distributions and access to two regional public goods: infant mortality and public schools' pupil–teacher ratios. Comparisons are done based on 2- and 3-dimensional dominance criteria which can rank conclusively about 30 percent of all possible comparisons in the 2-dimensional case, compared with 67 percent for 1-dimensional income-based comparisons and 6 percent for 3-dimensional ones. Introducing local public goods appears to worsen the relative standing of Anglo-Saxon countries. |
