| Abstract: | In 1996, the retail price index and consumer price index of the whole country rose by 6.5% and 8.5% respectively. Overall, to control price hike, there are many favourable conditions in 1997. The government will continue to practise moderately tight financial and monetary policies. For most of commodity markets, there will be an ample supply. The focus of macro regulation and control is being shifted to the adjustment of industrial structure and enterprise structure. But there are also some unfavourable factors. But there are also some unfavourable factors. There still exist potential pressure on prise rise. The voices of enterprises for raising prices is still high. The low quality of micro economic operation will place a certain pressure on narrowing the range of price rise further. The agricultural foundation for stabilising prices is still weak. |
