| Abstract: | This paper examines whether the tenets of Islam (here as: I.) are the reason for the score found through previous research by comparing and contrasting the UN Global Compact's (as: UN G.C.) 10 principles (as: prcps.) with those of I. in the affected areas. The paper reconstructs the prcps. according to their impact on social, human and natural capital, exploring whether I. is supportive of responsible behaviour in these 3 areas. It is concluded that, with the possible exception of I.'s focus on personal responsibility and non-recognition of the corporation as a legal person etc., there is no divergence btw. the tenets of the religion and the prcps. of the UN G.C. |
