Abstract:Employment at-will is primarily a question of state law. State courts have produced 3 major expectations to the employment at-will doctrine.State appellate court decisions are reviewed to identify judicial philosophies and to determine which states have accepted or rejected the various expectations to employment at-will. The results showed that the states vary considerably. This research confirms the need for statewide consistency with regard to the at-will issue.
