Abstract: | A model of the export adoption process is developed, which includes the following constructs: awareness, interest, intention, and adoption. The validity of the proposed model is tested by application of the LISREL method to survey data. (LISREL = Linear Structural Relationships) The LISREL computer program developed by Joreskog and Sorbom (1984) was used. The results provide unambiguous support for the model, which represents an application of the innovation adoption framework to export decision making is small firms. Limitations and managerial implications are discussed. It is suggested that future research investigate the effects of moderating variables affecting the linkages between awareness and interest, and between intention and adoption. |
