| Abstract: | Multiple comparative superiority mainly contributed to the rapid economic development in Macao in the 1970s and 1980s. However the advantage has been gradually weakened since 1990s but the competitive edge has not been sharpened, which is the main reason for the continual economic recession in Macao. So the author believes that only by devoting major efforts to science and technology, promoting industrial upgrading and establishing the competitive superiority can we revitalize Macao's economy again. Finally, the author makes penetrating analysis and comment on the "service-centered theory", which is very popular in Macao's economic development. |
