Abstract:How IBM and Sears have invested $ 250 million in Trintex, a joint venture to provide videotext to major corporations. The difficulties of bringing the computer based communications system to completion with its public-access network, enabling data to be received and sent over a telephone line with the use of a modem. How the package called: Prodigy will use only 5-8 command words and this will make use and shopping easier. Possibility that the Bell telephone operating company may provide its own system or be entitled to impose added fees on the transmission of data by telephone. A graph gives the investment and revenues from videotext services in the United States.
