Abstract: | The objective of General Electric Corporation's overall training strategy was to develop an action learning program closely associated with its own business needs. The program culminated in a "real" project taking up to four month for participants to complete. The structure of the program is outlined subdivided into four days. The importance of organizational support and co-operation from senior management is highlighted as a criterion for "real" and successful change. Problems of insufficient communication between the participants themselves, and the tutors and participants are acknowledged. Examples of projects are given as follows: development-production interface; quality control system; stock control; project tendering. |
