| Abstract: | A change in strategic direction is required if videotex is to reach its fullest potential. There is a need to identify marketable uses for the technology, for more macro level marketing of the concept; standards should evolve; technologies should be matched to the needs of the application; there should be integration of videotex services at a national level through cable networks. A certain measure of government support is required. Subsidization, standardization and integration are needed. |
